Couture Christmas

December 10, 2010 in Articles

From a start up fashion line in California with a few pieces, to worldwide popularity, Juicy Couture is an upscale brand popular with teens and young adults.

The clothes are fun, flirty and range from casual couture to high fashion. Purses, jewelry, fragrances and even dog-wear have expanded the Juicy brand to every facet of the fashion world.

You can find Juicy merchandise at Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus as well as flagship stores throughout the United States.

We love Juicy’s colors, signature crown and ever-changing slogans. That’s why we want to highlight what we consider the “must-haves” for a Couture Christmas this year. If you have ladies on your list, you will want to pay attention.

1. Cashmere Crewneck with Bows and Chiffon Skirt: We adore this Juicy sweater with its bow embellishments. Soft and classy,

it is the perfect compliment to the crinkle chiffon skirt that sits below the waist. For a day outfit or casual party-wear, this is a great

gift that can be separated  and paired with jeans, leggings or dress slacks.

2. Quilted Duchess Bag. Instead of the signature velor Juicy handbag, we love this oversize quilted bag for day or night wear.

Black is a versatile color that will make a great addition to your purse collection, but this purse also comes in a charming plum color

if you want something that stands out.

3.  Peace, Love, Juicy Couture EDP. The latest fragrance from Juicy, no outfit can really be complete without the perfect scent

to accompany it. Since a girl can never have too many cute (and delicious) perfumes, this gift is a sure winner. This is available at

limited carriers so do your shopping early!

4. Rich Girl Watch. With classic gold detailing, this watch is one of our favorite pieces from Juicy. More sophisticated than the

adorable charm bracelets, this fashionable watch will compliment any outfit. You can feel like a “rich girl” without paying the price.

Pea Coat: Find the Right Style This Winter

November 30, 2010 in Articles

A well-tailored pea coat is a must have for any winter wardrobe.

Originally a military-issued wool jacket meant to keep European sailors warm on the seas, the pea coat has evolved into a staple of winter fashion.

Broad lapels, large buttons and a double-breasted front set these hip-length coats apart from other drab winter wear. Variations in length, color, material and collar-style make the pea coat versatile and guarantees you will find at least one you like this season.

Whether you plan on buying a Prada pea coat this winter or picking one up on sale at your favorite department store, keep in mind a few simple style-options that will keep your coat selection interesting.

…………………

…… Ruffles. The blasé style of the classic pea coat is no surprise since it wasn’t designed with a fashion purpose in mind. If you want a feminine looking coat, look for delicate ruffles along the wrist, hem or even collar. Pea coats with ruffles are fairly popular, so this should be an easy find.

Military Collar. If you find the wide, floppy lapel of the pea coat unflattering, look for a jacket with a standing military collar. Sleek and sophisticated, the military collar is a great option for a different look. (Not to mention, it keeps your neck warm).

Colors. Navy blue and gray are not your only options anymore, thankfully! Vibrant reds or even deep purples make pea coats a fun addition to your collection of coats. Buying a coat in a neutral color is still a good idea, since black and gray will match almost any item of clothing and creates a more formal look for a night on the town.

….. Pleats.   We love pleats. This simple alteration can transform a masculine pea coat into a romantic piece, giving the lower half of your coat the feel of a feminine skirt.

….. Belts. What better way to accentuate a slim waist than a fitted coat. Pea coats are available with tie or clasp belts that can further define your waist, creating a nice silhouette and adding a little interest to your jacket.
